ZURBwired Launches 2010 Design Collaboration

Share

February 23, 2010 – Web design firm ZURB has officially launched the 3rd annual ZURBwired event; a 24-hour design collaboration marathon which will provide one deserving non-profit with a business needs and marketing assessment, a redesign of their website and redesigned marketing collateral.

ZURB created ZURBwired 3 years ago, with the hopes of giving more back to the community and providing a deserving non-profit with a revamped digital marketing platform tied to organizational needs. To begin, ZURB sits down with the selected team to identify their user needs, business goals and growth strategy. Before jumping to implementation, the team develops a framework and process for the initiative, providing a tool for the chosen non-profit to learn to be more efficient and inspired about making business and marketing decisions in the future. Lastly, the ZURB team provides a tangible result (website redesign, collateral design) that helps the non-profit create tools and ideas to market their event or concept.

As many non-profits are staffed by volunteers and have limited funds, marketing initiatives and web development are typically pushed to the back-burner.  Using a group of volunteers from the non-profit during the design marathon also provides a cost effective way to utilize and engage existing talent. The past two ZURBwired events have helped raise over $50,000 for the organizations, and provided them with over $30,000 in donated services.

ZURB will begin officially accepting submissions on March 4th. The nomination period ends on March 18th, with the 24 hour event taking place on April 8th. To submit a proposal, email wired@zurb.com  with the following info:

  • The project you need design help with
  • Details about the team that's going to be at ZURB's office for 24 hours on April 8th
  • Why your organization is a fit for ZURBwired

ZURB is also seeking additional partners and volunteers to make this project a success. Volunteers with skills in graphic design, blogging and photography among other skills are needed, and in return are free to use any knowledge gained in their own company.  Companies and individuals interested in partnership or volunteering can visit  zurbwired.com for more information.
