New Venture Helps Companies Evaluate, Communicate CSR Programs

Sept. 22, 2008 - An accounting firm and a marketing firm have joined forces on a one-stop shop to help corporate clients quantify the value of their sustainability initiatives - and then communicate them to stakeholders.

BPM | MacKenzie, the new joint venture between San Francisco-based accounting firm Burr Pilger & Mayer LLP (BPM) and MacKenzie Communications, Inc., will offer a diagnostic "health check" for clients, designed to assess current practices and provide recommendations to align corporate responsibility practices with strategic business goals.

"BPM | MacKenzie will address a real market need for our clients, who are increasingly focused on initiating and promoting corporate responsibility and sustainability programs across their organizations," says Janis MacKenzie, president of MacKenzie Communications.

The enterprise will launch by conducting an in-depth health check on both BPM and MacKenzie to see how well each organization is "walking the CSR talk," says BPM managing partner Stephen Mayer.

"Corporate responsibility has a major bottom-line impact on a company’s performance, relationship with stakeholders, and also benefits the planet," Mayer says.
